Modoribashi Bridge is located in the Kamigyo Ward in Kyoto, Japan. This location is special for a variety of reasons ... from legends of people waking from the dead when carried over the top, to tales of samurai fighting off demons (oni) in surrounding locations, Modoribashi is quite a well-known spot in Japanese History.
When residing Japan, I stay very close to this location, and practice under Modoribashi on a daily basis. Every practice session here is productive and enjoyable. The sound of Horikawa river as it flows south, the curious (and always friendly) folks walking by, and shade from the bridge make all practicing here a rewarding experience. I always look forward to practicing here and save some of the more difficult things I need to work on for this location as I have come to depend on the results I get when practicing at this particular spot.
